About the Asaish Directorate
Security & Public Safety Directorate
Introduction
The Erbil Asaish Directorate was established in 1992 — following the great uprising of the Kurdish people and the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government — as a national institution to protect the gains of the people and to anchor security across the capital. Since then, the Directorate has grown into a strong fortress safeguarding Erbil. Operating under the umbrella of the Kurdistan Region Security Council, it carries the responsibility of preserving stability, national security, and public peace for the citizens and residents of the capital of the Kurdistan Region. We are committed to enforcing the law and protecting human rights for a peaceful and prosperous society.

To protect the people of Erbil, uphold the rule of law, and serve our community with integrity, professionalism and respect for human rights.
